Haarlem is de thuisbasis van Intersection, maar de wereld is hun
speelterrein. Deze hiphopgroep heeft leden in de gelederen uit Marokko
en Brazilië. Bovendien trokken ze, op uitnodiging van de grote
Youssou N’Dour, naar Senegal om aldaar onder diens toeziend
producerend oog met lokaal raptalent te werken. Dat kan lang niet
elke globalist ze nazeggen. Hun opvattingen van hiphop en r&b
zijn natuurlijk aardig ingekleurd door deze ervaringen. Dat is vooral
te horen op The Dakar Recordings, de bonus-cd bij hun prachtalbum
Freeway. Live is het al helemaal een kleurrijk feestje, vol messcherpe
raps en feestelijke verrichtingen van een heuse live-band.

Haarlem-based hip hop act Intersection are not exclusively Dutch
with members originating from Morocco and Brazil. They were invited
to Senegal by the great Youssou N’Dour to work with local rap
talent under his production. Their ideas of hip hop and r&b have
obviously been formed by this experience. You can hear it on The
Dakar Recordings, the bonus-cd with their fantastic album Freeway. Seeing
them live is a colourful celebration of colourful raps over a partying
live band.
