Rock, Ruig & Toch Rijp
Myslovitz komt uit de Zuid-Poolse stad Myslowice, voor het geval u zich af mocht vragen waar die bandnaam eigenlijk vandaan komt. De groep won in 2002 de MTV EMA-award voor beste Poolse act, maar dat betekent niet meteen dat Myslovitz nu het Kane van het Oosten is. De muziek draait om de warme, fluwelen stem van voorganger Artur Rojek en kent een welluidend, melancholiek randje. Toch hebben Rojek en de zijnen ballen, want eenmaal op het podium dreigen de stoppen geregeld door te slaan. Er zitten tal van invloeden verstopt in hun werk, dat na bijna tien jaar ontwikkeling onderhand best gerijpt klinkt zonder dat ’t nou onmiddellijk saai moet worden. Met de single ‘Sound Of Solitude’ moet de internationale markt bestookt worden, waarbij voor de clip de hulp is ingeroepen van de beroemde director of photography, en tweevoudig Oscar-winnaar bovendien, Janusz Kaminski. De man die medeverantwoordelijk was voor ‘Schindler’s List’, ‘Catch Me If You Can’ en ‘Jerry Maguire’ brengt zo een beetje Hollywood-magie naar de Poolse rock.

Rock, Raw & Yet Ripe
Myslovitz is a band from the southern Polish town of Myslowice, in case you’re wondering where such a name comes from. In 2002, the band won the MTV EMA-award for best Polish act and indeed, they are Poland’s most popular band by far. The music’s main attraction is the warm, velvet voice of front man Artur Rojek and has a pleasant melancholy edge to it. Rojek and his men definitely have balls though. Put them on a stage and they’ll go wild. The music combines various influences, and after ten years the sound has ripened without ever becoming dull. Myslovitz hope that their single ‘Sound Of Solitude’ will conquer the international market and therefore asked the famous director of photography and two-fold Oscar winner Janusz Kaminski to make a video for it. This man who was co-responsible for ‘Schindler’s List’, ‘Catch Me If You Can’ and ‘Jerry Maguire’ puts a touch of Hollywood-magic into Polish rock.
