Wie kent hem niet, die reclamespot waarin een ambitieuze Indiër zijn ouwe barrel net zo lang vertimmert en verknalt tot ’t net een Peugeot 206 is. Het bijbehorende, verrekt aanstekelijke potje bhangra-muziek heeft een ingewikkelde voorgeschiedenis: gemaakt door het Nederlandse productieteam Bald ’n Spikey met zang van Raja Musthaq, tot de uiteindelijke hitversie geremixt door de Amerikaanse Bhangra Knights. En nu toeren beide teams met zijn allen de wereld rond. Al of niet per 206.


Bhangra-crashes-into-Peugeot-Pop
Do you know the commercial in which an ambitious Indian crashes and bumps his old car just as long as it looks like a Peugeot 206. The accompanying catchy bit of bhangra-music has a somewhat complex history: it was made by Dutch producers’ team Bald ’n Spikey with vocals by Raja Musthaq, and was remixed into its current hit version by the American Bhangra Knights.
