| Zijn naam klinkt buitenlands, maar Steve Rachmad is toch echt
Amsterdams trots als het gaat om de betere techno. The Secret Life
Of Machines, zijn debuutalbum (onder de naam Sterac) als schrijvers
dezes het allemaal op een rijtje hebben, is een van de mooiste,
meest emotioneel geladen cd's die het doorgaans (ten onrechte) als
steriel ervaren techno-genre heeft voortgebracht. Hij is goed bevriend
met groten als Derrick May en Robert Hood en levert al jaren kwalitatief
hoogstaande platen af op gerenommeerde labels: 100% Pure, M-Plant,
Underwater, Music Man. Zijn kunsten als DJ doen niet onder voor
wat hij in de studio laat zien: een mooi vloeiende mix van uitgekiende,
avontuurlijke technotracks, dat is wat hij in de Mazzo net zo goed
laat zien als op het beruchte Dance Valley-festival. Vergeet Tiësto
en Menthal Theo: de echte held van de Nederlandse dansvloeren is
Steve Rachmad.

| Though his name sounds foreign, Steve Rachmad is indeed Amsterdam's
pride when it comes to techno. The Secret Life Of Machines, his
debut (under the name Sterac) is one of the most beautiful, most
emotional techno CD's, a genre that's usually (though undeservedly)
considered sterile. He is friends with big names Derrick May and
Robert Hood and has put out high quality albums on eminent labels:
100% Pure, M-Plant, Underwater, Music Man. His DJ performance is
as good as his work in the studio. Both are a fluent mix of intelligent
adventurous techno tracks. He played both in discotheque the Mazzo
and on the infamous Dance Valley festival. Forget Tiësto and
Menthal Theo: Holland's real dance floor hero is Steve Rachmad.
