Podgy (NL)
"Wist u dat Podgy geen platencontract heeft? Hint!" zetten de snoodaards erbij in hun summier uitgevallen bio. Podgy wil dus wel. Anders dan menige band vinden deze Grunnegers dat ze dus wèl makkelijk in een hokje te plaatsen zijn - en dat is wel weer reuze fris. Dat hokje heet emocore, die hippe richting die uitbarstende gitaren koppelt aan uitbarstende drums, uitbarstende bassen en uiterst uitbarstende vocalen. Een moshpit, zo'n ruimte vooraan waar het voor de actief meeluisterende concerbezoeker aangenaam botsen en springen is, acht de band absolute noodzaak om de optredens optimaal op te sieren. Want de dynamiekwisselingen en genuanceerde schreeuwpartijen die de pers hen toedicht moeten goed tot hun recht komen.	"Did you know that Podgy does not have a record deal? Hint!" And I quote from their biography. Podgy are willing. Willing and able. They don't make a problem about being categorised either. Emo-core is what the band from Groningen play. A mosh pit, a space at the front where the concert goer can mosh and jump, is an absolute necessity for their live shows. Because the changes in dynamics and the carefully dosed outbursts of shouting the media ascribe them need a good setting.
