| Uit de Belgische kant van Limburg komen de bijzondere klanken
die Nostoc ons voorschotelt. In de belevingswereld van de broers
Reekmans is het alsof de decadente Berlijnse cabaretwereld van de
jaren twintig bevolkt wordt door verlopen types als Tom Waits, Gavin
Friday en Nick Cave, terwijl in het gehorige naastgelegen pand een
gedrogeerd latin-ensemble staat te repeteren. Hallucinerend mooi,
kortom, en stilstaan is schier onmogelijk als deze mannen echt de
geest krijgen.

| Nostoc's unusual music is made in Belgium. By the Reekmans brothers,
to be more precise. Theirs is a world where the Berlin cabaret scene
from the twenties is inhabited by the likes of Tom Waits, Gavin
Friday and Nick Cave, while in the thin-walled house next door a
Latin ensemble are playing, stoned out of their heads. Hallucinatingly
pretty therefore and to stand still borders on the impossible when
these men are at it.
